What should I look out for when choosing the right filter pump?
The filter performance of a filter pump should definitely match the size of the filter. As the filter speed increases, the filter performance decreases. This also means that the filter performance does not necessarily improve if you use a more powerful pump. In public areas, the filter speed is limited to a maximum of 30 m/h, and even to 20 m/h for salty water. For backwashing, however, you need more pump power to flush the dirt out of the filter into the sewer. These different operating conditions are achieved with a frequency-controlled filter pump that automatically adjusts the output to the respective requirements.
The backwashing process removes the dirt from the filter system and loosens the filter medium by forcing the water through the filter bowl in the opposite direction, i.e. from below. You should backwash your filter system about once a week. The filter rinsing time depends on the load of the pool water and is about 3 to 5 minutes.
